Real Life Pirates Demand Ransom From Disney Over ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 5’

Movie ‘pirates’ claiming to have hacked and stolen Walt Disney’s upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean 5 film are threatening to distribute it online if they aren’t paid a ransom.

Bob Iger, Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Officer, revealed the threat in a town-hall meeting with ABC staff but did not reveal the name of the film, nor the amount of the ransom but stated that the company would not pay up to the real life pirates of Hollywood.

This comes after the unprecedented ransomware attack known as WannaCry (or Wcrypt) that has infected more than 200,000 systems across 150 countries, holding ‘ransom’ information from the victim’s infected computers and systems for $300.
